0471: Last Hurrah for Dallas

The big day is tomorrow in both Raleigh and Dallas. But since the Hurricanes aren't changing their logos or colors, they're not quite as fertile ground for concept artists as the Stars. So I've got one more Stars post featuring three unique attempts. Avi Stein leads off with the starry D.

Icethetics regular Justin Nahhas did a little something in the style of the Lightning — in fact simply recolored actual Lightning jerseys to come up with this set. It's a solid color scheme.

And finally, Thierry Dick squeezes in his second Stars concept in less than a week with this gorgeous kit. He's employed the logos that were leaked a couple weeks ago.

Which of these three styles is your favorite for Dallas? And how eager are you to see what the team actually has in store tomorrow?

0367: Reviving the Metropolitans

Here's a fun one. We continue our theme this week of reviving old hockey franchises. The PCHA's Seattle Metropolitans have the distinction of being the first American hockey team to win the Stanley Cup. So why has it been nearly a century and the Jet City is still without an NHL franchise? Justin Nahhas puts forth this uniform for the day pro hockey finally returns to Seattle.

By the way, fun fact: The first post of the Concepts page relaunch was Feb. 19, 2012 — and featured Ryan Haslett's Seattle Metros. Coincidence? Of course not.

0344: Missouri Tigers

Today marks the end of the University Sunday series for a while. Doesn't sound like most of you are enjoying these concepts very much. To wrap up, Justin Nahhas brings us his take on the Mizzou Tigers. Next Sunday, we'll launch a unique new series. UPDATE: Actually, next Sunday is Super Bowl Sunday and I have a special post planned. New series will start Feb. 10.

0328: Justin Freaks Out on the Caps

I think it's time we wrap up Justin Week. Convenient since Friday is upon and there's this really freaky Washington Capitals concept from Justin Nahhas. These mixtures of past and present are starting to become a staple of the concepts page, for better or worse. In any case, that's all from the Justins for now. But I'm sure they'll be back soon enough. They are prolific, after all.

0325: Panthers Get Justined

I knew this would be a weird theme week, but we're trudging on anyway with the Justins. This morning, Justin Nahhas gives us his take on the Florida Panthers. If anybody can pull off those stripes, it's got to be the team from south Florida.

By the way, I'm escaping to Europe this afternoon, so updates to the blog and comment moderation will be limited. (If you haven't registered for a free account, you can find a link at the top of the page.) But not to worry, new concepts will keep popping up here every day even while I'm gone.
