Buffalo's Outdoor Flashback

This week's Outdoor Saturday post takes a cue from the Minor League Week we just wrapped up. Dylan Wonka imagines the Buffalo Sabres wearing an old AHL jersey — from the Buffalo Bisons — perhaps for a future Winter Classic.

The Sabres have already worn a third jersey inspired by the script from the Bisons' bottle cap logo. Why not go all out? The Bisons were displaced in 1970 when the Sabres joined the NHL — much like what happened with the Manitoba Moose when the Jets came to Winnipeg.

Chi-Town Retro

I really think the Chicago Blackhawks should go back to having a third jersey. And I really think this concept by Dylan Wonka would be perfect.

Rocky Mountain Classic

Anybody interested in seeing the 2016 NHL Winter Classic in Denver? A game between the Avalanche and Blues could be positively stunning if Dylan Wonka has anything to say about it.

Five by Dylan Wonka

Some of our most talented concept artists are also our most prolific. In an effort to showcase many of their more creative and unique designs, we have a theme week. I'll be presenting five cool designs for five different teams every day.

First up is Dylan Wonka. His set of five shows not only that he loves to experiment with a variety of templates, but that he has a one-of-a-kind vision for NHL jerseys.

Burning Hot

It's not the first time we've seen dark grey dominate a Calgary Flames concept, but it is among the better ones. The minimal use of read makes for a great design, but I'm curious if it would be as welcome on the ice as it is in digital form.
