Senators Confirm "Vintage White"
/Friday's Heritage Classic jersey teaser infuses color
On Friday night, the Ottawa Senators posted a new teaser photo for their 2014 Heritage Classic jersey. It's basically the same portion we saw earlier in the week — only now in color!
It confirms only that the jersey will be beige (or "vintage white" as I prefer to call it). This color has been used frequently in the NHL as part of "heritage" palettes for a variety of teams including the Bruins, Blackhawks, Rangers, Flyers and of course the Senators themselves.
What do you think? Brilliant idea or disaster?
New teaser photo reveals back of jersey
Based on Monday's teaser image, it certainly appears the Senators are going with a light version of their black Heritage jersey for the 2014 Heritage Classic. The photo shows the nameplate and number on the back and gives us a hint at the striping, which is identical to the black sweater.
The biggest question that still remains is what's on the front. Will they simply carry over the "O" from the black jersey? Will they try a new script? Or will they simply go without a crest to better mimic the original Senators team? We find out Thursday.
