0068: Trying Out for Team Canada

We haven't really featured any national teams on the new Concepts page yet, so let's try one today. Nick Burton shares a new look for Team Canada with us. I'm a fan, but then I'm not Canadian. What do all you Canadians think of it? And if you guys have anymore international concepts to send in, maybe I can get another theme week going.

0059: Making the Coyotes More Interesting

When the Phoenix Coyotes were rebranded in 2003, the simplistic design was a complete 180 from their original look. What Nick Burton seems to be doing here is trying to make the Coyotes look interesting again. He's brought back the old logo to use as an alternate and opted for the color palette of the team's current third jersey. It's not perfect, but I'd call it an upgrade.

0040: Marooned

This one's just for fun, today. Exactly no one is looking to add a second NHL team in Montreal. And even fewer are eager to rename or rebrand the Canadiens — one of the world's most recognizable brands. But as a flight of fancy, what if the Montreal Maroons ever came back to the NHL? Nick Burton offers his take for our enjoyment. It's cool. And maroon.

0028: Green-a-thon Classic

It's St. Patrick's Day and this is where two features, Green-a-thon Week and Winter Classic Weekends, collide. In 1927, the Toronto St. Pats became the Toronto Maple Leafs and for a short time, the Leafs continued to wear the green. It seems that's where Nick Burton is taking his cues for this jersey — a very brief moment in history. But it was designed for a Winter Classic and today is St. Patrick's Day. It was the obvious concept to post — even if it is unrealistic as a jersey for the big outdoor game.

0008: Back to the 1920s

Yesterday marked the beginning of a new Concepts feature called Winter Classic Weekends. In today's concept, designer Nick Burton takes us back to the 1920s with his suggestion for the 2013 Winter Classic at Michigan Stadium.
